Who We Are Shapes What We Do
Our history is part of our ecosystem. How we came to work together is a great story, but more importantly it gives you a peak into our willingness to seek a diversity of ideas, new approaches and most importantly creative exchanges across disciplines. We bring this same enthusiasm to each and every inquiry we have.
Besides her groundbreaking work with Awareful Systems Group, Denise holds the position of President at Plexus Institute and is the visionary behind Adapt Knowledge, an enterprise offering cutting-edge digital knowledge solutions for professional development programs and products.
A prolific writer and a passionate researcher, Denise is deeply immersed in the development of research-based models and frameworks aimed at the astute design, development, and change management of ecosystems. She is the co-author of the insightful book “Complexity Works! Influencing Pattern-Based Change in Teams & Organizations” and is presently working on a Field Guide for Ecosystem Development. Through her writings and endeavors, Denise is shaping the landscape of complexity science and ecosystem development, making her a luminary in these fields.
As a co-creator at Awareful Systems Group, Barb brings her rich tapestry of skills to the table. She assists both individuals and organizations in weaving Complexity Thinking and Confluent Communication into the fabric of their operations. Her innate capacity to “listen to the human signals in a system” or “engage with what is not fully formed in the system” is strikingly evident in the tailored solutions and guidance she offers to her clients.
Through her diverse practice, she remains anchored by a profound, guiding question: “What do I learn from this medium, how do I know I have learned what I can from this medium (right now), and what happens with what I have learned when I change mediums?” This inquiry helps shape her dynamic approach to ecosystem development that creates spaces where innovation and human experience intersect.
